World Premiere!
Set in an anonymous suburban enclave, Eric LaRue concerns the struggle of Janice, a middle-aged mother coming to terms with a high-school shooting spree perpetrated by her son. Within the sterile confines of her community and her home, she finds no one to turn to for solace and understanding, except a young pastor at a church that her husband won’t even attend. Eager to grapple with such a grave crisis, and to offer some kind of healing to his spiritual community the pastor utilizes every method at his disposal, however awkward or untried it may be, to push Janice through the process of dealing with what her son has done and the guilt and fear that accompany her questions of complicity in his actions. When the pastor finally summons the mothers of the victims to a meeting with Janice, she realizes that apologies and kind words are not enough to defuse the buried tensions or ease the suffering of any party concerned. She sets off to find answers from the only person who may really have them.
