PLAYWRIGHTS
We are not currently accepting unsolicited material. We will accept submissions through agents or referrals. If we are interested in your play, we will contact you, so please do include all of your contact information with your script. No phone calls, please.
ACTORS
Equity Principal Auditions (or Season General Auditions) for A Red Orchid are scheduled annually through Actors’ Equity Association (AEA). These usually take place in the late summer for the upcoming production season. Information regarding these auditions is posted on the AEA website and will be cross posted with League of Chicago Theatre’s website. Non-Equity and EMC actors are invited and encouraged to attend the Equity Principal Auditions but are, unfortunately, not guaranteed appointments. Please take note that A Red Orchid does not schedule appointments and all appointments are scheduled though the AEA office.
Auditions for individual productions are by invitation only.
Hardcopies of headshots and resumes are accepted year-round and kept on file. Cover letters are appreciated.

DIRECTORS AND DESIGNERS
We accept directors’ proposals (accompanied by a resume) as well as resumes from scenic designers, stage managers, lighting designers, sound designers and all other artistic and technical personnel year-round.
