Equity actors for roles in A Red Orchid Theatre’s 2025 – 2026 Season (see breakdown).
Actors of all ages, identities, ethnicities, and genders, as well as artists with disabilities for A Red Orchid Theatre’s 2025/26 Season. See BREAKDOWNS section below for specific roles and dates. All roles will be understudied, and submissions may also be considered for understudy roles.

CONTRACT TYPE

Union: CAT $389 weekly minimum (tier 2) – increase to $398 weekly minimum on 10/6/2025
Non-Union: $218 weekly

Please prepare one (1) contemporary monologue no more than two (2) minutes in length. We may or may not ask you for 2nd monologue if needed or as time permits. Please bring a headshot and resume stapled together.

Please prepare and self-tape one (1) contemporary monologue no more than two (2) minutes in length. Self-tapes should be submitted as links. YouTube Unlisted Links or Vimeo Links are preferred. Please make sure anyone with the link may view. Self-tapes submitted with passwords or other restrictions may not be considered.

SYNOPSIS: Following a violent coup, a young woman named Chelsea becomes Queen of North America. Into her new palace walk three friends from middle school with whom she hasn’t spoken in years. They’ve come to ask Chelsea for a big favor, but before she grants it, she’s going to make them revisit their shared friendship.

BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA

SYNOPSIS: John and his daughter Caitlyn are birders. As they scan the skies over their backyard in suburban Maryland looking for elusive birds, years go by. Relationships begin and end. Children grow up and parents age. The climate and the world change in small and vast ways. BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA takes a close look at the relationship of a father and daughter over the course of a decade as they struggle to understand the parts of one another that defy understanding.

SYNOPSIS: Welcome to the Unity and Hope Conference. A gathering of the most persecuted, tortured, and misunderstood people in the entire world. The call themselves Targeted Individuals and they are the victims of a vast and covert program of systemic torture, surveillance, and harassment by global intergovernmental powers. Over the course of this weekend in the woods, they will discuss strategies to take down the deep state, bring awareness to their plight, and, despite their suffering, stay human.
