A Red Orchid Theatre (AROT) is an ensemble of artists dedicated to the proliferation of live theatre in the modern world. JOB OVERVIEW:
The ideal candidate is a creative, flexible thinker with communications experience, a solid understanding of social media strategy, and a passion for the arts. This position will collaborate closely with the Director of Development and Marketing and will play a key role in executing AROT’s marketing campaigns, including fundraising, show promotions, ticket sales, and community events. This position will also support internal communications, content creation, and data analysis to engage and grow AROT’s audience and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Market Research: Conduct research on audience behavior, industry trends, and competitor activities to inform marketing strategies.
- Campaign Planning & Execution: Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns for fundraising, show production, ticket sales, and community events.
- Content Creation: Write marketing copy, design and send email blasts, design visual assets and other materials for both digital and print media. Develop compelling social media posts to engage current and potential audiences.
- Public Relations: Collaborate on media strategies, assist PR firm with the drafting of press releases, and monitor media coverage.
- Data Analysis: Analyze marketing data and metrics to measure the success of campaigns, track performance, and generate insights for future improvements.
- Reporting: Create regular reports on marketing performance, including campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, and ROI (return on investment).
- Administrative Support: Manage daily administrative tasks related to marketing efforts, including scheduling, coordinating meetings, and supporting event logistics.
- Internal Communications: Assist with the creation and distribution of AROT’s quarterly newsletters to the board, ensemble, and staff to keep all internal stakeholders informed and engaged with organizational updates, events, and initiatives.
- Website Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain AROT’s website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with marketing campaigns and organizational updates.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, OR equivalent experience.
- Strong writing skills for various marketing materials and digital content.
- Familiarity with marketing tools such as Mailchimp, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), Google Analytics, and Google Ads.
- Solid understanding of market research, data analysis, and campaign tracking.
- Organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A passion for theater and the arts, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred:
- Experience in nonprofit marketing or in the arts and culture sector.
- 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and graphic design tools is a plus.
COMPENSATION & HOURS
$19/hour, 20 hours/week
